WHAT IS ITIL?

ITIL ® - The Information Technology Infrastructure Library is a set of books developed by the United Kingdom's Office of Government Commerce (OGC). The books describe an integrated, process based, best practice framework for managing IT services which includes both Service Delivery and Service Support. To date, these books are the only comprehensive, non-proprietary, publicly available guidance for IT Service Management.

Key Skills ILX now offers an accredited interactive Computer Based Training (CBT) and online learning course for ITIL ® training to foundation level. The ITIL ® Foundation training course combines the best of voice, interaction, and exercises based on our proven educational design. It provides an easy way to learn ITIL ®, and the knowledge to gain the ITIL ® Foundation qualification. The new ITIL ® Foundation training course is delivered by either CD-ROM, Network, Intranet and online Internet access.

Are there any pre-requisites?

There are no formal entry requirements for the ITIL training course or the ITIL examination, but it is assumed that all delegates will have a basic level of IT literacy or experienced in a Service Support or Sevice Delivery role.

 

The course will be suitable for:

• Staff entering an IT environment who might have day-to-day responsibilities within one or more of the service management disciplines.
• Staff working in an IT service management discipline who wish to broaden their understanding of how their role fits into the wider service management framework.
• Other staff whose effectiveness would be enhanced by a greater awareness and understanding of best practices in IT service management.
